Economic Impact
Cedar Falls Community Main Street was formed in 1987 to enhance and preserve the physical environments and human resources of the Downtown District. It is financed via Self Supporting Municipal Improvement District. The investment certainly has paid off, with increased value of the SSMID District.Since Cedar Falls Community Main Street’s inception, the central business district has seen impressive growth in new businesses, new jobs and private reinvestment. And, we’ve had a lot of fun in the process! See how we've grown:

Goal: To help existing downtown businesses and expanding and recruiting new ones to respond to today's market. Help convert unused space into productive property and sharpen the competitiveness of business enterprises.

The Organization and Development Committee meets the second Monday of the month at 12:00.
Goal: To build consensus, cooperation and financial support among groups that have an important stake in the district by fostering a volunteer-driven program and organizational structure working toward the same goal(s).

Promotions Committee
The Promotions Committee meets the first Thursday of the month at 12:00.
Goal: To sell the image and promise of Main Street to all prospects. By marketing the district's unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, and visitors, an effective promotional strategy forges a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events and marketing campaigns carried out by local volunteers.
