Business of the Month – Maid-Rite
Legend has it the Maid-rite sandwich got its name over 80 years ago because when first tasted, it was said, “This sandwich is just made right.” The legend holds true for Penne and Al Koeppel, the owners of Maid-rite in downtown Cedar Falls since 1980 after purchasing the business from Penne’s mother, Moe.
Cedar Falls Maid-rite has been at 116 E 4th Street since 1947. It has been here to satisfy customers with specially seasoned, made to order loose meat sandwiches for as long as most of us can remember! In addition to the famous sandwich, daily specials, homemade soups and desserts are staples available any day. Grab a stool at the counter or grab some take out, either way your taste buds are in for a treat.
